Dear friends of Uzbekistan and Central Asia
Today we are proud to announce the establishment of the first watch association in Uzbekistan and the entire Central Asian region, including Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.
The Watch Association was created in Uzbekistan in response to the need to increase knowledge and awareness among the population about genuine watch brands and the problem of counterfeit watches.
We are faced with a serious problem: a significant part of our population, without sufficient information, buys counterfeit watches, attracted by their low cost. However, it is important to understand that buying counterfeit watches entails a number of negative consequences:
- Economic damage to our own country. Counterfeit goods harm the economy of our country, as these purchases do not contribute to the development of the local market and production, and also circumvent tax obligations.
- Violation of intellectual property. Buying counterfeit watches supports the illegal use of other people's brands and technologies, which is a serious violation of the rights of original manufacturers.
- Reputational and material damage. Well-known global brands such as Swiss, German, Japanese and American manufacturers suffer from counterfeiting, which undermines their reputation and causes financial losses.
- Impact on health and safety. Low-quality materials used in counterfeit watches can be harmful to public health. Metals and paints that have not been properly certified can cause allergic reactions and even poisoning. Moreover, such watches often do not meet water resistance and shock resistance standards, making them unsafe for everyday use.
Our region of about 80 million people is often targeted by counterfeiters from neighboring countries who flood our market with cheap imitations. We want to change this situation by providing the population with reliable information about real watch brands and their advantages.
Our association aims to popularize original watch manufacturers and raise public awareness of the harm and consequences of purchasing counterfeit watches in order to provide our country and our entire region with quality watch products. We strive to ensure that every person in Uzbekistan and Central Asia understands the importance of supporting original manufacturers, which will lead to an improvement in the economic situation and the protection of intellectual property and saturate the market with quality watch products.
The creation of a watch association is not just an attempt to combat counterfeit watch products. It is an opportunity for all of us to gain access to information about the world's best brands, their history, technology and innovation. We will hold events, lectures and master classes so that everyone can get acquainted with high-quality watches and understand their true value.
Our association aims to develop a culture of consumption and raise awareness of the importance of authentic watches. We will work to ensure that every person in our region can distinguish a fake from an authentic and understand why it is important to support real manufacturers.
We are confident that through our association we will be able to change attitudes towards the watch industry, improve the culture of consumption and create a solid foundation for the development of the quality watch market in Uzbekistan and in our region as a whole.
We call on all residents of the region to support our initiative and contribute to the creation of a fair and more transparent watch market.
Sincerely, The management of the Watch Association of Uzbekistan
